Dear sh404SEF Plugin, Why Don’t You Work in GoDaddy?

Long story short, the sh404SEF plugin doesn’t play nice with GoDaddy.  The fix, however, is quite simple.  The way we recommend using the sh404SEF plugin is with .htaccess, meaning that per our standard installation instructions, you will have to change htaccess.txt to .htaccess first, install the plugin, and then set the proper configuration.  Then what?

GoDaddy still says no.  The reason is that in that default .htaccess file, the RewriteBase line is commented out…which means that this necessary function is not available to you.  Remove the comment on that line, and you should be good to go after an hour or so (GoDaddy caches your files for about this long).
